My commission process.

Sometimes the right painting is one that hasn't been made yet.

I work with collectors and interior designers to create original abstract paintings with a particular space, scale, or palette in mind. The process is collaborative, but the painting is always uniquely my own - made with the same intuitive, layered approach as the rest of my work. Have a space in mind?

How it works:

1. We talk.
Tell me a little about your space, the size you're considering, colors you're drawn to, and your timeline. Photos are always helpful. Take a look through my recent work and let me know which paintings you're drawn to. It's a great way for me to get a feel for what you're responding to.

2. Make a plan.
We'll settle on dimensions, general direction, pricing, and timing before I get started. No surprises. A deposit gets your commissioned painting on the calendar.

3. Let me paint.
This is where you leave the painting to me. I'll work within our agreed direction, allowing the piece to develop naturally. You'll see the finished work for approval before the final wax finish is applied.

4. The painting ships rolled, stretched fresh on arrival. Rather than risk damage in transit on a stretched canvas, I roll the finished work and ship it to a framer near your delivery address. The framer then stretches it onto sturdy stretcher bars and puts the hardware on. This way the work arrives crisp, taut, and ready to hang in the space.

A few things worth knowing…

Commissions typically take 4–6 weeks. I don't reproduce existing paintings, but I'm happy to use a previous piece as a starting point for a conversation. Every painting is an original. That's the point.
