“Acceptance: it’s the essence of these works on paper. In my other paintings, whether on panel or canvas, I tend to build layers and create a history of surface, reworking them constantly. Paper though, behaves differently, and forces me to create some rules of ‘acceptance.’ I have to let these happen and welcome their collisions and imperfections.”
